OUR
SERVICES
EQUINE REPRODUCTION
A huge focus of our business between April and July every year is equine reproduction. This includes full service chilled and frozen semen artificial insemination, both Canadian and US origin as well as mare uterine health management and problem breeding mare diagnostics, treatments and management strategies.
Stallion services are available through collaborative partnership businesses closeby. Mare and foal boarding is provided on site - individual, clean, safe stalls and pens which are disinfected between horses, cleaned twice daily, and the feeding program provided is designed to promote optimal reproductive performance.
EQUINE DENTAL HEALTH
Horse, pony and donkey dental exams and treatments are performed using the most modern equipment. This includes dental diagnostics and treatments such as floating, leveling, wolf tooth removal, some permanent tooth extractions that are non-surgical, diastema management and treatments, and geriatric equine dental care, as well as performance horse floats.
EQUINOSIS Q SENSOR
This advanced technology involves applying small sensors to 3 specific areas of the horse during a lameness exam which provides readings through Bluetooth to a computer program that analyzes the readings of the sensors, and gives information to the veterinarian on differences in symmetry of each leg and where specifically the asymmetry is located in the phase of movement of each leg (impact, midstance, push off). The data generated along with the exam findings helps determine where the primary, secondary and compensatory lameness is located, and whether the lameness is more associated with joint vs soft tissue.

EQUINE LAMENESS
All equine lameness assessments are thorough and performed concurrently with the Equinosis Q Lameness Locator Motion Sensor System that provides a quantitative measurement of differences in symmetry during phases of movement of each leg, aiding in determining the primary site of lameness as well as secondary and compensatory lameness locations. Diagnostics are used along with this initial exam system, including nerve and regional blocks, ultrasound and digital radiography.
Treatment options are based on exam findings, and are numerous, including corticosteroid joint or tendon sheath injections, Provet PRP, NoltrexVet, and various oral and injectable products that have proven benefits for lameness. Cases are often also managed through collaboration with other professionals providing effective disciplines and modalities such as Osteopathy, and Advanced Farriery, PEMF therapy, etc.
OSTEOPATHY
This highly specialized treatment modality, in the hands of a properly and fully certified osteopath practitioner, involves the manipulation of the equine body's muscle tissue and bone, to aid in the management or treatment of lameness, pain, some diseases, and behavioral issues.
Collaboration with certified osteopath practitioners in many of our cases has made huge differences in the success of the outcome. We only work with fully certified individuals which are graduates of the Vluggen Institute of Texas or Germany and are members of the Worldwide Alliance of Equine Osteopaths.
FARRIERY
It is estimated that 90% of equine lameness is in the foot, and the old saying, "No foot, No horse" holds true even to this day.
We work with excellent local advanced farriers to come up with the best option for lameness cases, whether the problem is being caused by the foot, or the problem is elsewhere and adjustment of the loading angles of the limb is necessary or helpful in the treatment plan for the lameness.
BOVINE HEALTH
This part of the practice is limited to providing service for existing herd health clients only and is no longer taking on new clients.
SHEEP FLOCK HEALTH
Sheep Flock health involves establishment of a Vet/Client/Flock relationship, set up of a comprehensive flock health management protocol plan and establishment of prescriptions that are deemed necessary for each specific flock. Other services such as ram breeding soundness evaluation and Pregnancy ultrasound testing is provided to these clients as well.
